I have a confession. I’ve never been good at keeping up with a journal or a diary, and basically a blog is the same thing… except it’s public. I’ve just never been good at it, i want to be, but I’m not. I get so caught up in all the things there are to do that I never sit down to write about it. The days are just packed chock full, mainly with all the things I love.
So I’m going to try to get caught up and then post at least weekly from here on out! I just added a bunch of new photos to the Gallery.. some photos of longarm service customer quilts I’ve done, and some of the things I’ve been making. I’ve had some really cool quilts come in lately from new customers, they had a more modern feel and I really loved them. Here are a couple pictures, but there are more in the Gallery.
It’s fun to start to really begin to figure out ones own tastes, likes and dislikes. I really didn’t think I would be into the more modern quilts and designs, but I seem to be gravitating towards them. I also really seem to like quilts made with curved piecing and I recently bought a Craftsy class on this subject and I’m looking forward to watching that.
I’ve also been keeping really busy making things for my Etsy Shop. Once I get this first batch of baby quilts done I will be spending some time on some more personal projects. I am making a quilt as a gift for a friend, and that is top of my list right now. I also have the Leah Day Building Block Quilt Along to finish, which is going to be a gift for my husband. And of course I have a few other quilts in mind that I want to make just because I like the idea of them! It’s going to be a fun year! If you look in the gallery you’ll see some of the things I’ve been working on, but a couple of my personal favorites that I’ve completed recently are pictured below:
Spring is here (kind of) and with it comes a lot of work cleaning up around the farm, getting the horses shedded out, riding lesson students getting back into full swing, getting back into a routine with training and preparing for the competition season. I’m expecting that I won’t be as productive with quilting during the summer, but we’ll see! I have a number of projects I am really motivated to do right now, so I may ride and teach a lot during the day and quilt in the evenings.
Hope everyone is enjoying the spring thaw!
